Beginner Knitting - Level 1
Our two-part introduction to knitting class covers the knit stitch, how to make a slip knot, read a pattern, cast on and bind off. We’ll talk about the knitted fabric, learn how to cast on and work the knit stitch to make a garter stitch fabric, in the first session. The second session covers how to bind off, problem solve errors that may come up when knitting a garter stitch, how to join new yarn and weave in ends.
The class includes a supply kit: needles, practice yarn and a darning needle.
Skill Level Needed: No Experience - suitable for those with no experience or have learned it many years ago and would be starting as a new knitter again.
Materials Included: 4.5 mm needles, enough worsted weight yarn to knit a square, and a darning needle.
Homework: bring a notebook and pen if you want to take additional notes.
Please note the classroom is upstairs (14 steps).
